A 100% natural, compostable, eco friendly way to wash your laundry? Yes please! Say hello to Soap Nuts. These magical nuts grow on the the Sapindus tree in the Himalayan foothills - the tree actually thrives in harsh environments and infertile soil! The tree is incredibly resilient to diseases and doesn't need any kind of fertilizer or pesticides. Soap nuts are technically a berry and it contains a natural detergent called saponin and will suds up when wet. These nuts are deseeded. 

Soap nuts naturally smell like vinegar but the smell does dissipate after using. If you are concerned about the smell we recommend adding a few drops of essential oils to the bag with the soap nuts. 

HOW TO USE: How do you use Soap Nuts? Our favorite way is to clean laundry! You simply place about 5 nuts in a small cotton drawstring bag, pop it in your washing machine before adding clothes and wash as normal. You can use the same 5 soap nuts for multiple loads (up to 5-10 times!). Do not transfer soap nuts to the dryer.
