The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes the exciting yet sometimes overwhelming tradition of shopping for gifts. The holiday retail sales forecast for 2023 predicts a 3-4% increase over 2022, potentially reaching a staggering $957.3B to $966.6B.1 In fact, the average holiday shopper is projected to spend about $875 on food, decor, seasonal items and more, which is $42 more than last year.
Halloween is right around the corner, and it's one of the most beloved holidays in the United States. In 2022, we saw record-high spending of $10.6 billion, with this year projected to top $12.2 billion.1,9 That’s a lot of candy, costumes, pumpkins and decorations! It is estimated that over 70% of the American population will participate in the holiday.2 It's safe to say that Halloween is a big hairy deal.
